Disappointing for a time then won Foxbridge Plate gamely, if a bit fortuitously. Down 81b from his Plate weight so must be a great prospect to win again. Easier track would help. R. Skelton. 5 PELL MELL (22) 8-5. Won A.R.C. Alison Cup, Ilf, brilliantly last start after fair effort over Ilf. at Te Rapa on Labour Day when he was galloped on. In top form, a dashing middle distance runner. Up only 41b from last time. R. Lang. 4 3145 PEP (12) 4-3. Ran well at Wellington spring meeting for first over Um. sixth over Ilf, and good fifth last start in welght-for-age Harcourt Stakes. lOf. Prefers easy ground and would be top prospect in event of rain. 7 ISYS CLAUDIUS (7) 8-1. Disappointing when twelfth last start. Avondale Cup, after equal first with Gold Heights over a middle distance at Tauranga. Capable up to this distance and should go well. Would probably appreciate easier track. O. Hughes.

I 0541 E TIMI (4) 7-11. Hu improved quickly to good form and won over a mile at To Rapa last Saturday as though thoroughly capable of getting thia distance. Successful up to lOf last season. Looks well and must be respected. O. Edge. » 2412 TARALEAH (14) 7-11. Won Avondale Cup two starts back with game finish and was since second behind Pell Mell In the A.R.C. Alison Cup. That makes her one of the top form candidates. At a nice weight, should go well again. 4. Riordan. 10 0004 CITY COURT (21) 7-7. Excellent stayer summer before last when he won the Wellington Cup. Afterwards he wu troubled by a leg. Best effort after a fair spell wu recently when he showed up wide at furlong then battled on in A.R.C. Alison Cup, Ilf. Q. Willetts. 11 7050 ABBEY'S SON (14) 7-4. Form a bit patchy, but sometimes comes up with very solid run over longer middle distances. However, finished

Ran poorly last Saturday, at Te Rapa, after weakening and finishing wen back in the Avondale Cup. Previously looked to be coming right back to best. Hard to fancy on latest runs. 13 42M SUPREME QUALITY (5) 7-4. Battled on last Saturday in Foxbridge Plate and much better suited by these handicap conditions. Regained form at last when third behind Mediate, over a middle-distance at Rotorua, on October M and since fifth and fourth over middle distances at Hastings. This looks much harder. D. Had good first-up win, 7f, Tauranga, October 17, but since well beaten over Ilf at Avondale and mile, Te Rapa last Saturday. Game, well-perfqrmed mare, which will be resuming racing after rest up. Last start was Ilf. at Ellerslie on August 12. Might sprint well while fresh. 6. Edge. • PROPER VERDICT (14) 7-8. Useful mare which will be resuming racing after a spell since July. Latest racing has' been over middle distances but previously she had value as a sprinter. 4 0868 SHANTUNG (5) 7-8. Improved to manage good third behand Nunui over 6f. at Ellerslie, November 7, and since was close up Of last Saturday. On those runs looks one of the best prospects. 13 MASTER HAGEN (20) 7-6. Reached useful form in hack and intermediate company when trained at Matamata last season. Failed more recently over middle distances, then put aside last autumn. 14 4053 DUTY FREE (5) 7-5. Finds it hard to keep up early in sprints these days but has been finishing well. Great late run for third last Saturday over 6f. Longer distance will suit D. Peake.
