Another hole sold under McNeill plan
Another triumph for Mr Wallace McNeill. The fourteenth hole at Russley for the Christchurch Garden City Classic has been sold with his $25 share-hold-ings, and seven of the necessary 20 shares for the second hole have also been purchased.
His multi-sponsors had already been responsible for selling the seventh hole. The total number of holes sold is now 10, nine of them at $5OO and one at $lOOO. The 13 sponsors who completed the sale of the fourteenth hole are: Hutchinson Motors, Ltd; Kendall Pharmacy, Robert McLean,; Ltd; Bishopdale Pharmacy;! International Cameras; Blaxall and Steven, Ltd; Carthy
Motors; Velvin and Cresswell, Ltd; Terry Kelso; the Canterbury Police golf club; English Motors, Ltd; G. B. McWhinnie and Company, Ltd; M. L. Poore and Company. The seven sponsors for the second hole are: T. R. Owens; Cokers Hotel; Rickstan Industries, Ltd; New Brighton Panelbeaters; Hamco Speed Equipment; Christies, land agents; and “Anonymous Grandfather.” The “Anonymous Grandfather” is of particular interest He is 85, has never had an interest in golf, but he feels that Christchurch has to “make a job” of the Tournament; and so he has I subscribed. i It is a very useful ex- ! ample.
