New lead in inquiry
(N.Z. Press Association) WHAKATANE, Nov. 19. What he described as a “certain development” in the missing Mrs Betty McKay homicide inquiry led to a rushed visit to Whakatane today by Detective Inspector J. A. McCarthy, of Hamilton, the officer in charge of the inquiry. Mr McCarthy said he could not disclose the development. He went to the Thornton area, where Mrs McKay was last seen alive at 12.30 a.m. on April 12.
Flights Increased. —Subject to Government approval, Air New Zealand will increase its Auckland-Los Angeles flights to four a week from April 3, 1971. The existing Auckland-Nandi-Honolulu service will continue, giving five Pacific services a week. —(P.A.)
