Industrials, miners drift in Australia

Industrial and mining shares drifted again in quiet trading on Australian stock exchanges yesterday. Oil shares generally were steady, and there were small rises and falls among the industrials. International Mining led the decline in the nickel stocks, falling 22c to 198 c, while Peerless was cut back to 135 c, a loss of 24c. Poseidon lost 200 c to $6O, and Queensland Mines was down a similar amount at $3B. Kathleen Investments slipped 10c to 1490 c, but M.I.M. gained 5c to 430 c after its annual report. Robe River lost 2c to close at 248 c. Western Mining closed 25c down at 1015 c and C.R.A. fell 20c to 1330 c. New Broken Hili lost 10c to 1530 c.

Hamersley weakened slightly. Metals Exploration, and Great Boulder were others to lose ground.
