ANOTHER RECORD
Box’s fourth in 2 weeks E. Box (Elmwood) broke the Canterbury under 12 100 metres freestyle record he established a week ago at the weekly time trials at the Centennial Pool last evening. Later, he set his fourth record of the season and his second of the night, when he established a new time in the 200 metres backstroke. In the shorter race he covered the pool in Imin 10.1 sec, o.3sec faster than his ’ time last week, while in the backstroke event he lowered the old under 12 record by 4.9 sec with 3min I.6sec. It appears only a matter of time before he breaks the three-minute mark.
A third record was set by A. Atkinson (Jellie Park), who lowered the under 14 100 metres butterfly record from Imin 13.9 sec to Imin 12.2 sec.
