When to decide
Don’t decide one day to build a swimming pool then start work the next. There are the usual pieces of red tape to be sorted out in the way of regulations which though irksome are very important. Observe these points: Get a building permit. Investigate filtration requirements. Find out how backwash water is to be disposed of. Find out what must be done with the water when the pool is emptied. Find out the source from which you can draw water to fill your pool. Your local council will be of great assistance along with suppliers of filtration and other equipment The filter you buy will be your major essential expenditure next to the pool itself and there is one to suit your individual needs. Some are made to overseas specifications, others have been designed in New Zealand. Each firm supplies informative details to help you decide, and maintenance is part of the service. The skimming is an important part of a filter. It floats away the debris from the pool surface before it sinks to the bottom. If your pool is located near trees, leaves can be blown in during a gale, or in autumn, at a greater rate than even the most efficient skimmer can handle, but it is usually when the filter is turned off that this happens. The degree of warmth found most enjoyable in a pool is relative. It depends a great deal on the air temperature when you swim. To hold the water to a constant 80 degrees, foi example, would be not only expensive, but unnecessary when the air temperature is 60 degrees.
