RACE FOR PIKO
(N.Z. Press Association) SYDNEY. The top New Zealand import, Piko, will have his first start in Australia at Randwick today, in the Nick Bodkin Handicap. His trainer, T. Smith, has secured the top jockey, R. Quinton, to ride the four-year-old. Piko, in Australia for next month's rich Melbourne Cup, will face the 11/8 on favourite,, Royal Treat, in the Lightning Handicap over five furlongs. Newspaper tipsters place Piko as third best prospect.
