< CHRISTCHURCH OPERATIC SOCIETY INC PRINCIPAL AUDITIONS FOR (aWot j| Auditions for Principals for the Society's 1971 prestige production of Lerner and Loewe’s Musical “CAMELOT” are scheduled for TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27th, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28th, and THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29th, commencing at 7.00 P.M. PRINCIPAL ROLES IN CAMELOT KING ARTHUR: Lead. Must be mature accomplished actor, good tonal quality to sustain long soliloquy, Singer preferred although songs may be monologued. GUINIVERE: Lead. Soprano. Strong actress with ability to emote many moods, pleasant singing voice. LANCELOT: Romantic lead. Must be a singer with ability to handle dialogue. Baritone-High Baritone. PELINORE: Comedy lead, character actor, non singing part old, rusty knight. MORDRED: Villain of the piece, illegitimate son of King Arthur. Character Actor one song, in keeping with character. MERLIN: Magician, King Arthur’s mentor. Rewarding part for character actor non singing. MORGAN LE FEY: Queen of Enchanted Forest, excellent cameo part for good actress non singing. NIMUE: Nymph, non-speaking part, must be good dancer and mime. LIONEL, SAGAMORE, DINADIN: King Arthur’s knights. Small speaking parts, most important for creating atmosphere of show. MALE DANCERS: Six required for the Court of Morgan Le Fey, preferably dancers, but must have' ability to move well. Auditions will be held at the Society’s Hall, Corner Colombo and Angus Streets.
