I t i ’ TRAFFIC ENGINEERING CADETSHIPS AND ASSISTANT ENGINEERS VACANCY NO. 24 A number of appointments and or study awards for study in traffic engineering will be made by the State Services Commission in 1970. i Preference will be given to students completing Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering Science or Bachelor of Science Degrees in Pure, Applied and Statistical Mathematics and Physics. Consideration will also be given 1 to students sitting University ex i aminations or the University bur- : sary examinations who may be granted study awards to complete or undertake a suitable University Degree. The study award provides an allowance of $4OO a year and may be held concurrently with a University Bursary or Junior or National Scholarship. Marriage and boarding allowances are also payable under certain conditions. Students are bonded to remain in the Public Service after graduation for a year for every year of assistance, and during the long University vacations will be required to work for the Ministry of Transport at normal salary rates. For all appointments training will be given within the Ministry of Transport In traffic engineer ing and the technical aspects of road safety and traffic control. At the end of this training the engineer may also be required to carry out post graduate study in traffic engineering overseas.
