All outboards exempt

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct 15. Marine outboard engines up to and including seven horsepower will be exempt from import- licensing immediately, the Minister of Customs (Mr Adams-Schnei-der) announced today. He said the Government’s decision came after a'recommendation from the Emergency Protection Authority. Originally the Government had proposed that all marine internal combustion piston engines be exempt from licensing. After an objection from a New Zealand manufacturer engines up to seven horsepower had remained subject to licensing. The latest decision means that all such engines are now free of control.
