The Canterbury half-back and vice-captain, L. J. Davis, who will have his hundredth first - class match today, has been invited to play for a strong Centurions Club XV against Wellington on October 3. Davis will be the latest re- . cruft to the club, which restricts its membership to players who have reached the three-figure milestone in representative Rugby. Davis and K. R. Tremain, the Hawke’s Bay captain and former All Black flanker, are the only players in the side who did not tour South Africa with the New Zealand team this year. W. F. McCormick, W. D. Cottrell and A. E. Hopkinson are Canterbury’s other players In the Centurions team. B. J. Lochore and C. E. Meads will play for the Centurions, and the former All Black prop, K. F. Gray, has been included in the reserves.
