The research programme of the department is concerned with experimental and clinical aspects of renal and myocardial disease. Present personnel in the department offer considerable expertise in the morphologic aspects of Experimental Pathology, including light and fluorescent microscopy and transmission and scanning electron microscopy. It is envisaged that the successful applicant would develop the biochemical aspects of research within the department. PSYCHOLOGY OR SOCIOLOGY WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGICAL MEDICINE—LECTURSHIPS. Applicants should have experience or interest in any of the following: psychometrics, social psychology, clinical psychology, sociology of mental health, epidemiology, survey methods, the application of automated data processing techniques and systems analysis to mental health, community mental health or social psvehiatry. Applicants will be expected to pursue an academic career with primary emphasis on teaching and research, and to assist in the development of an academic Department of Psychological Medicine which will have a strong emphasis on the behavioural and social sciences and cost/benefit analysis of services.
