Basin stand no nearer
! (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The Wellington Cricket Association had been given the run-around by the Local Authorities Loans Board, the chairman of the management committee (Mr R. A. Vance) told the annual meeting. He said he could report no progress on the association’s new pavilion planned for the Basin Reserve, but he believed the association’s application to the loans board to raise $220,000, lodged some months ago, would be considered next week. Earlier, the president (Mr C. G. S. Cohen) said: “We 'must get this stand. The tests go where the money is, irrespective of the standard of i the pitch.”
