Karate title winners
Two of the four Christ-, church members of the New Zealand karate team returned home last evening with South Pacific titles. At the championship tournament in Sydney. A. Barber won the open grade and T. Trainor the middle-weight. Barber, who has twice won the New Zealand open grade championship, captained the Dominion’s team in an international contest against Australia, which won. 3-2. The other Christchurch members of the New Zealand team were R. Tulloch and R. Hanham.
