Canterbury.—A change after noon to fresh cold south-westerlies; showery about the Alps and showers developing elsewhere with the south-westerlies.

Marlborough.—Strong north-westerlies; cloudy this morning with showers about the ranges and a period of showers elsewhere about midday; moderate to mild temperatures at first but colder south-westerlies likely tonight.

Buller and Westland. —Variable winds at first tending to fresh south-westerlies; I showers heavy for a time with hail and j thunder but fair periods increasing after I noon; cold with snow on the ranges to 2500 ft. Outlook. —All districts: clearing but cold. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
