Pestering Planned

(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Sept. 7. An anonymous group of “more than two dozen” Hawera telephone subscribers plans a “pester” campaign over the next few days in protest against the Post Office go-slow.

An anonymous caller told the New. Plymouth “DailyNews” today that the campaign had already started, and that the Hawera postmaster had received sixcalls in the first 10 minutes of his lunch hour at his home listing. Those involved planned to telephone Post Office employees at their home addresses, and to keep up a 24-hour “pestering service,” the caller said.

When warned that such calls were illegal and could result in a prosecution, the caller said the calls would be responsible and polite, and in the category of inquiries over the duration of the go-slow and its implications.
