Girl Drowns In Baths
(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Sept. 6. A seven-year-old girl drowned in the Mataura baths at 3.15 p.m., after being found to be in difficulties in about sft of water. She was Annette Elizabeth McKerghar, of 17 Dunbeath Crescent, Invercargill. The Mataura freezing works’ rescue team applied mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on the girl until the arrival of an ambulance The girl was taken to the Gore Hospital, where she was found to be dead on arrival.
