Good Trading For Lamb
After the holiday period, trading moved slowly on the Smithfield Market.. Supplies of fresh and chilled beef exceeded demand. New Zealand lamb sold steadily, the Meat Board reported. The main grade of New Zealand lamb (29/36 lb) was quoted at 33d-33fd per lb. There was a slow inquiry for snuill pitchings of New Zealand mutton, which cleared mainly In cut form. The main grade of hogget (49/561b) was quoted at 24d per lb; the main grade of wether (49/561b) was quoted at 23d per lb, and ewe mutton at 21d per lb. i Price Range Quotations for New Zealand I lamb were:—
