BOY HIT BY CAR

A six-year-old boy suffered serious head and leg injuries when he was struck by a car at the intersection of Pori Hills Road and Martindales Road about 4 p.m. on Saturday. The boy, Nathan Wayne Cornish, of 20 Flinders Road, was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital, where his condition was last evening described as fairly comfortable. Terence Julian McNabb, aged 18, of 118 Roker Street, was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital early on Saturday morning after a car hit a pole in Colombo Street, Sydenham. He suffered head injuries, and was discharged later in the day. Hamish Brian White, of .3 R.D., Amberley, was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital with head injuries about 5, p.m. on Saturday after his cycle had been involved in a collision with a car on the Main North Road near Omihi. He was discharged yesterday.
