Mr Rippon’s Itinerary
(NZP. A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, September 6. Mr Geoffrey Rippon, Britain’s new chief Common Market entry negotiator, will fly to Hong Kong on September 10 at the start of a fortnight’s tour of the British colony, Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Rippon will hold talks with Sir David Trench, the Governor of Hong Kong, on September 12, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office announced today.
for talks with Mr Walter Scheel, the West German Foreign Minister. Mr Scheel is chairman of the Common Market’s Ministerial Council with which Britain is negotiating her entry.
On September 14 he will meet officials and members of Hong Kong’s Executive and Legislative Councils and later the same day will hold talks with the colony’s Textile and Trade and Industry Advisory Boards.
During his Australian visit (from September 15 to 17) he will meet the Prime Minister (Mr Gorton) and the Deputy Prime Minister (Mr McEwen) In New Zealand from September 17 to 22 Mr Rippon i will have talks with the Prime [Minister (Sir Keith Holyoake) land the Deputy Prime Minister (Mr Marshall). Mr Rippon will also visit butter and cheese factories and hold discussions with members of the New Zealand Dairy and Meat Boards. Mr Rippon will leave Wellington by air for London on September 22.
The chief negotiator will tomorrow night fly to Bonn
