HATCH CUP AGAIN
(N.Z. Press Association) HAWERA. Canterbury retained the Hatch Cup—the national primary schoolboy’s hockey trophy—when it beat Taranaki, 1-0, in the final of the tournament at Hawera yesterday. Canterbury’s goal, by B. Bbana, came after a melee in front of the Taranaki goal. It gave Canterbury the title for the forty-sixth time since the cup’s inception in 1919; this included one draw. The South Island beat the North Island, 4-0, but in a B team's match the North Island won 3-0.
