N.Z.B.C. Profit Of $2.7m

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 4. An increased tax-paid surplus of $2,741,246 is recorded in the report of the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation for the year ended March 31. The surplus is up by nearly $200,000 on the previous year. The report, which was tabled in Parliament today by the Minister of Broadcasting, Mr Walker, comments that it Is impossible for television to obtain a constant supply of programmes of the highest quality. “There is also—both in New Zealand and overseas—a limited pool of artistic resources. This is sometimes a source of complaint, at times justified, but it is a problem faced by all television organisations,” said the report
