VACANCY PROFESSIONAL • ENGINEERING STAFF HAWKE’S BAY CATCHMENT BOARD THE BOARD has the following vacancies on its permanent staff. All positions will provide experience in survey, design and construction of river control, drainage, water resources and water conservation works, in a district where water control and management is vital. The Board’s District stretches from Takapau, to north of Wairoa. The successful applicants will work in the Board’s spacious new Offices in Napier. GRADUATE ENGINEER: The position will provide adequate training for registration. Starting salary for B.E. or similar $3313, with automatic increments to $5352 for a registered engineer. ENGINEER’S ASSISTANT: Applicants should preferably have had experience in river control and drainage works, although this is not essential. Salary range: $3162 to $3742. HYDROLOGICAL ASSISTANT: Preference will be shown to applicants who have attended Ministry of Works Hydrology Courses. Salary range: $2630 to $3173. DRAUGHTSMAN/WOMAN: An intermediate or senior Draughtsman or Draughtswoman is required for civil engineering draughting and plan tracing, and general drawing office duties.
