TIMBER SHARES ATTRACT BUYERS INTEREST
Timber shares attracted most interest in an easier New Zealand market yesterday. A wide range of stocks was traded and, while there were some handsome rises, the leaders were easier.
Carter Consolidated responded to news of its success in obtaining a good share of the Kaingaroa State Forest contract. The shares jumped 15c to 155 c. The other successful tenderer, Tasman Pulp and Paper, rose 5c to 350 c.

Dominion Breweries weakened under selling pressure, losing 2c and the rights retreated 3c. N.Z. Forest Products suffered a 3c fall to 405 e. Insurance stocks were easier as the market digested the N.Z. Insurance Company’s report and the problems faced by the industry.

Housing Float O’Neill Industries, Ltd, Australia’s largest locally-owned manufacturer of housing for mining and development projects, has announced it will make a public issue of 1,250,000 shares next month. O’Neill Industries has supplied on-site housing and related facilities for major mining and construction projects throughout Australia as well as in Bougainville, New Caledonia, New Guinea, and Indonesia.
