Queen’s Scout Awards
Two founder members of the Wainoni scout group, Messrs R. Dale and L. Pannell, both aged 18, were awarded Queen’s Scout certificates -in Christchurch on Monday evening. They are the first members of the Wainoni group, which was founded in 1960, to gain the awards.
The awards were presented by the Kowhai District Commissioner, Mr F. Burt. Mr Dale, who is studying for a Bachelor of Forestry Science degree, and Mr Pannell, who is studying for a B.Sc. Honours degree in chemistry, will attend a function this week-end at the house of the Governor-Gen-eral (Sir Arthur Porritt), in Wellington, with other | Queen’s Scout badge winners from throughout New ZeaI land.
