The Roman Catholic Bishop of Christchurch (the Most Rev. B. P. Ashby) will leave today to make his five-yearly report to Pope Paul VI and the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples at the Vatican. He will return in December after the papal i visit to Sydney and the conference of the 50 Roman Catholic Bishops of Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific. The VicarGeneral (the Rt Rev. T. J. Liddy) will administer the affairs of the diocese while 'he is away.
