Dan Dailey has displayed considerable versatility during a long screen career, and he should fill very satisfactorily the principal role in “The Governor and J.J.,” a comedy which begins from
I CHTV3 on September 7. It is . Dailey's debut in a television I series. He is cast as the governor ’ of a small mid-western state, 1 William Drinkwater, who has ' a somewhat unpredictable 1 daughter. The daughter, played by Julie Somers, is the “J.J.” of the title. JJ. works as assistant curator 6f a zoo, but also acts as her father’s first lady at official functions. Governor Drinkwater regards himself as a political middle-of-the-roader who has a strong feeling for the underdog and often finds himself involved in social reforms. His proficient, attractive secretary is played by Neva Patterson and James Callahan i is his hard-working press I aide.
