TRANSPLANT DEFENDED

Blaiberg’s Wife In Favour (N.Z Preu 4'<«n.—Copyright) CAPE TOWN, Aug, 23. Mrs Eileen Blaiberg, the wife of the late heart transplant recipient, Dr Philip Blaiberg, says that she is "very, very much” in favour of heart transplants, no matter what her daughter said. The daughter, Jill Blaiberg, aged 22, last week told journalists that she would write a book describing the “life of hell" her father led after .his January, 1968, heart graft until he died a year ago. Mrs Blaiberg said' yesterday that Dr Christiaan Barnard’s heart team was "very upset" by her daughter’s remarks. The last few months of her husband’s life were “Hell . . .” Mrs Blaiberg said, “but most of the time our life was like heaven. “He never complained because he believed in heart transplants."
