The minimum educational qualification is School Certificate sufficient for entry to Form VI, including a 50 per cent pass in Mathematics. Students sitting this year may apply, but ap- ■ pointment would be subject to gaining the above qualification. Some Departments offer positions as Draughting Assistants for girls who do not have the | above qualifications but who have some ability in drawing or art. Commencing salaries are $1296 with School Certificate | subjects for entry to Form VI, increased after six months to $1486 with Lower Sixth Form Certificate. Commencing with University Entrance the salary is $1486 increased after six months to $1686 with Higher School Certificate. Subject to satisfactory performance, salaries are increased by annual increments up to $3173. There are excellent prospects of further promotion on merit. First-class training is given and cadets are assisted in their studies for the N.Z. Certificates in Draughting or Engineering. Training will be in one or more of the following fields of draughting— Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, ; Survey, Architectural, Cartographic, Photogrammetric, Community Planning, Computing, Navigational Charting.
