An Australian research scientist disclosed today that a programme is under way in Sydney to synthesise a drug which might replace the daily insulin injection taken by diabetics. The drug, a protein, code-named ACG (acceieratory fragment of growth hormone), might be strong enough to be taken only every other day, in oral doses, said the scientist, Dr Paul Zimmett—Sydney, August 20.
