Pensioners’ Costs
The position of pensioners in relation to rising prices was discussed this week at a special meeting called by the action committee of the Canterbury Trades Council. Among those present were representatives of the Aged People’s Welfare Council, the Post Office Association, the Public Service Association, the Senior Citizen’s Association and Solo Parents. The president of the Trades Council (Mr R. A. Hill), said afterwards that a further meeting, with wider representation, would be held at the Trades Hall next Thursday afternoon.
