STUDIES AHEAD OF RUGBY
The Canterbury full-back, S. M. C. Murray, will put studies ahead of sport next season. His aim Is a master’s degree in economics. with honours. He is also contemplating whether to remain at Lincoln College or enter the University of Canada, which has approved bis application. Even if he chooses to remain in Canterbury, he will put Rugby aside for a season. “I hope Fergle (McCormick) retires after that,” he said. Murray is working in the economic research unit at Lincoln College as a research economist He is to be married next year, and both he and his fut ure wife are keen to travel overseas, it Is likely Canterbury Rugby will lose his services in the not too distant future.
