W.Z. Press Assn.— Copyright) CANBERRA, August 20. The Australian Army's Eighth Battalion would be withdrawn from Vietnam early in November, toe Defence Minister (Mr Malcolm Fraser) said today. The battalion would march through Brisbane, its home base, on November 12, he said. But he did not give a pre cise date for the return of the 900 men of the battalion and some supporting elements. Australia at present has three battalions in South Vietnam, but the eighth will not be replaced, reducing toe task force to two battalions. Mr Fraser said that Australian instructors would work with South Vietnamese forces to establish a special training centre. The first trainees from this centre would graduate before next Christmas. But the Australian instructors would not stay permanently, he added.
