TRAINING ON 737s
50 Indians At N.A..C.
Up to 50 Boeing 737 jet pilots of Indian Airlines will undergo training with the National Airways Corporation, the airline’s general manager (Mr D. A. Patterson) said yesterday. The scheme will bring the Indian pilots to New Zealand in groups of six, starting in December. They will b? stationed in Christchurch where they will have 16 hours training on the N.A.C. Boeing simulator as well as some route flying on the 7375.
Mr Patterson said that each course would last two weeks. The contract gained by N.A.C. could well be worth about $50,000 in overseas exchange. N.A.C.’s flight operations manager (Captain A. C. Kenning) and its training superintendent (Captain P. J. Buck) recently paid a brief visit to the head office of Indian Airlines in New Delhi to conclude arrangements.
