Chess Team To Play Italy

AUCKLAND. The Christchurch players, D. S. Moulin and N. Hoskin, are included in the team chosen by the New Zealand Correspondence Chess Association for the first postal match against Italy. New Zealand beat Canada in its last postal match a few years ago.
The other players selected are: W. Forrest, J. H. Patchett (Henderson). P. Goffin (Meadowbank), N. Smith (Heretaunga), J. Barnes (Te Atatu South). C. Oldridge (Porirua), N. Cruden (Hamilton), A. N. Hignett (Panmure. captain), C. Gray (New Plymouth), R. McKerras (Papatoetoe), M. Kopytke (Palmerston North), M. Fraser (Mount Eden), A. L. Fletcher (Mount Roskill), M. Sadd (Seddon), R. Thomas, H. Burghout (Wellington), J. J. Stonehouse (Naenae), M. Sinclair (Featherston).
Controversial.*—The New Zealand boxer, M. Santos, lost on a controversial points decision, to the Victorian light-weight, H. Connolly, in a 10-round bout at Melbourne.
