Hovercraft For Tourists

(N.Z. Press Association) BLENHEIM, July 28. A small hovercraft will be running soon as a tourist attraction in Picton, the Sounds, and other parts of MarlboroughMr P. M. McLaughlin, of Blenheim, has acquired a United States-manufactured fibreglass hovercraft which can accommodate two passengers.

The 7001 b craft is 14ft 6in long with a beam of 6ft 6in. It is powered with a 1600 c.c. air-cooled engine and can reach 40 to 45 m.p.h. over land and about 30 m.p.h. over water. •
