ISLAND HOTEL

N.Z. Goods To Be Bought (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 27. Two Australians now visiting Auckland are working their way through a huge shopping list which could be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars to local manufacturers and producers. The Australians, Messrs D. Sindin and R. Moin, represent a Sydney company which is building a 300-bed international hotel at Vavau, in the Tonga group. Their shopping list, covering several hundred items, ranges from complete refrigerating and air-conditioning units to building materials, cooking and eating utensils, and food and drink. An unusual item is two or three boats, of about 26 to 28 feet, which will be used for game Ashing by hotel guests.

One of the main reasons why the company has decided to shop in New Zealand is the direct shipping link between this country and Tonga, maintained by the Union Steam Ship Company. Another is the competitive prices offered by local concerns, assisted by the Government export incentive scheme.
