STALLION SERVICE

(From Our Own Reporter) The, Greymouth Jockey Club has named the open sprint on the first day of its October meeting the Creosote Handicap in recognition of a donation to the club. Messrs G, S. and J. T. Coleman, of Kowhitirangi, and P. K. Ryder, of Yaldhurst, where their stallion, Creosote, is standing, have given a free service, valued at $325, to the club. The committee has allocated the prize to the winning owner of the Creosote Handicap. , . As the Greymouth Jockey Club is not involved in the controversy that the other racing clubs on the West Coast are having with the Trotting Conference, it has been able to frame its progratame of eight galloping events each day with minimum stakes of $520 for the maiden galloping events.
