(N.Z. Press Associations AUCKLAND, July 27. A resolution advocating no
ing marijuana was carried unanimously at the conclusion of a conference in Rotorua, attended by more than 100 doctors and lawyers.
During the two days of the conference experts discussed all aspects of drug abuse. Five of the 10 members of the Board of Health committee which is now investigating drug dependency and abuse took part. The resolution read: “That this conference affirms its support for recommendation
15 of the Board of Health committee on drug dependency.” Recommendation 15
says: “That there should be no relaxation in the control of cannabis (marijuana) and its preparations considering the present state of knowledge of its properties."
