CHECK ON PRICES.—The British Minister of Agriculture (Mr Prior) making an early morning tour of the Covent Garden fruit and vegetable market (top) and Smithfield meat market (bottom). He said he was cheeking to see that the public were being fed at a fair price, and not suffering unduly through shortages caused by the national dock strike. He later warned housewives that there would be a shortage of certain fruits and advised them not to buy should prices rise alarmingly.
