Motorist Injured

A man was admitted to Christchurch Hospital with head injuries last evening after the car in which he was travelling collided with • . power pole in Cashmere Road and slid almost into the Heathcote River before coming to rest Terence Eric Gilchrist, of 328 Pages Road, was alone in the car at the time of the accident His condition was reported as satisfactory early this morning. The crash occurred at 10.33 p.m. outside 45 Cashmere Road. After hitting the pole, the car, which was extensively damaged, slid down a bank and stopped just short of the river.
