WORLD SHOW-JUMPING.—The British rider, D. Broome, on the German horse, Donald Rex, at La Baule, France, when he became the new world show-jumping champion. He is the first Briton to gain the championship, and he finished with a total of only four faults. Broome, who has won two Olympic bronze medals and three European titles, rode four rounds, three of them on horses belonging to his rivals, to gain his new title.
