Importance Of Homecraft

The importance of homecraft and handicraft skills was emphasised by Mrs H. L. Gane in her presidential address to the annual conference of the Dominion Federation of the Country Women’s Institute. Important as it was for members to take their part in matters of national concern, it was equally important that the skills of handcraft and homecraft be encouraged, she said. Most women needed the satisfaction of some form of creative art, whether it was a handcraft or a home skill, or else the relaxation of taking part in a choral item or aspects of stagecraft, she said.
