104-Year-Old Dies In Hutt

WELLINGTON, July 23,
Upper Hutt’s “grand old lady,” Mrs Mary Anne McCurdy, aged 104, died in the Hutt Hospital today. The widow of Upper Hutt’s first Mayor, Mrs McCurdy was believed to have been the Wellington region’s oldest resident She is survived by four children, nine grandchildren. 20 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs McCurdy was born in London, and came to New Zealand at the age of 18. She had been in hospital for three weeks before her death.
