Meads’s Injury

Sir,—May I suggest that New Zealand allow the South African surgeons to get on with the job of treating Colin Meads's broken arm? After all, they have the X-rays and the patient! Are we not being very discourteous to a country which has produced some notable doctors by suggesting their standard of medicine is not as good as ours? However, the crux of the matter appears to be: should Meads jeopardise his future Rugby career for the sake of playing one test series in South Africa?—Yours, etc., ETHICAL July 23, 1970.
