Youth Training
Sir,—it would seem that since compulsory national service was abolished there have been troubles with “bored youth." Perhaps there should be some sort of system whereby any and all “not so fortunate" boys could take Outward Bound or similar courses if a scheme of this nature were instituted and run by the Government, through taxes, 1 am sure the majority of the taxpaying community would rather pay for that soft of training than, say, Borstal or detention centres. A course of this nature would help today’s youth and; no dbubt, provide leaders for tomorrow’s youth.—Yours, etc., CONCERNED PARENT. July 16, 1970.
