Top Teams In Close Contest Linwood beat Teachers’ College, 4-0, and University A drew with University C, to make the top three places much closer, in the latest round of the tnterclub volleyball competitions. University B leads with 27 points, University A has 261. and Linwood has 25|. University B beat Bryndwr in a lively game, but was clearly the better team. Results were: A Grade. —Linwood A beat Teachers’ College A, 17-10, 24-4. 15-13, 8-5; University A drew with University C, 9-16, 22-7, 14- 14-15; University B beat Bryndwr A, 16-12, 10-16, 22-6; 21-14. B Grade.—University Girls beat University D, 10-9, 9-12. 15- 14-6; Teachers’ College B lost to Shirley Boys’ High, bydefault; Y.M.C.A. drew with Deep Freeze, 4-8, 11-6, 10-18, 12-10; Linwood B beat Old Maroons. 7-10, 13-9, 18-7, 24-6. C Grade.—Fire Brigade A beat Bryndwr B. 20-13. 15-17, 19-11, 17-10; Fire Brigade B drew with Linwood C, 13-15. 13-10. 15-14. 7-15. Women.—Y.M.C.A. beat Papanui, 13-7, 15-3, 27-10, 36-8.
