U.S. Owners Top List
Irish racing statistics for the present season show the American owner, Mr C. W. Englehard, many thousands of pounds ahead of the next most fortunate owner—also an American—Mr N. B. Hunt, who has large interests in New Zealand. Mr Hunt's total is £12,128, which was won by his only runner in one race. Mr Englehard's total of £59,037 was won by Nijinski in his two Irish successes. M. V. O'Brien's 10 winners of 11 races places him at the top of the trainers* list with a total of £68.799, well ahead of the second-placed S. McGrath, whose 15 winners scored in 20 races for a sum of £18,813 In the jockey s list G. McGrath is in front with 28 wins. L. W. Johnson has 20 wins. Northern Dancer is the leading sire with one winner of two races (Nijinski) and £59,037. while Pardal (sire of Inglewood Stud’s Afghanistan) is second with 112,696.
