CRICKET FUTURE
S. Africa Discussed (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON. South Africa’s future participation in international cricket is now in doubt as a result of discussions by the International Cricket Conference yesterday. Associated Press reported.
The South African issue Will be discussed by individual countries who will put forward their ideas at another meeting next year. The conference took the unusual step of issuing a statement on the South African problem. It said: “The role of South Africa in the cricket world was discussed in some detail.” Concern was expressed over the future of international cricket between member countries of the I.C.C. and South Africa under existing conditions. The conference noted the position of the cricket council in this respect. “The matter will be the subject of deliberation by individual member countries, and if any member wishes to put forward a proposal it will be circulated for consideration by the 1971 conference.”
