DISTANT BLAZE: Improved a lengthy string of minor placirigs with a third on this course a fortnight ago. NAVIGATE: Has not raced since February but was consistent place-getter earlier in season. STRAD: Runner-up to Restrict in corresponding event, at Waipiate last Saturday. Fairly Consistent. WOLF WHISTLE: Weak showing at Waimate last Saturday but promising effort for fourth in heavy ground on track the previous HAPPY TIME: Battled on for for fourth after covering extra ground at Waimate. Improver. NERIUM: Promising first-up effort at Waimate where she ran on for fifth after slow start. SILVER CHARM: Has been second at last two starts. Nosed out of first by Cloudmaster in corresponding event on week course last Saturday

a chance if he ran up' to the form which earned him a third among hurdlers at Maramarua Hunt meeting three starts back. GREY SATIN: Weak showing among hurdlers at Ashburton last time out but was runner-up to Little Johnny at Wingatui at previous attempt. PEE WEE: Jumping leaves something to be desired but staying ability has earned him thirds on this course at his last two starts. ,

HARATAM: Improved a consistent record this winter with a third behind Lonvato and 1 Game Call at Waimate last week. CASCA: Also acceptor for open mile but would be top chance if started in this ( event providing ground is not heavy. Has won his last two races over country—at Oamaru and Washdyke. . DEEP COVE: Has mixed hurdling and 'chasing with marked success lately. Won over country on this course last Saturday week. Was . successful as hurdler on 1 first day of South Canterbury meeting. Other recent success was over country at Wingatui. , GILLIE: Sound jumper with fair amount of stamina. Looks reasonable place chance.
